Internet access from home dial-up connections. File sizes provided for multi-page documents will be kept to a maximum of 500 to 600K, allowing for average download times of 2-3 minutes at 44kbs. Recommendation include reading the electronic bibliographic record for the item and downloading a sample number of pages before deciding to download an entire document.

For downloading entire larger documents (some of which could take 15 or 20 minutes to download from home dial-up connections) multi-tasking is recommended. (e.g., start your download and open another application -- a second browser window or word processing application for example -- and continue searching or writing while the download works "behind the scenes" on your computer.
